# 143 - Côte Est

Arrivés à Yilan, on rencontre Tanya et Luke, un couple d’américains qui ont accepté de nous héberger pour une nuit. Elle est prof d’Anglais et lui étudie l’agriculture. Ils nous aident à louer un scooter pour visiter les environs et nous font découvrir la ville à travers leurs yeux d’occidentaux.

Un peu de vert après ces derniers jours dans Taipei, cela fait du bien. Temple, lac, rizière …

Le soir, ils continuent de nous faire vivre leur expérience et on profite d’une soirée organisée au dernier moment. Au programme : feu sur la plage, bière et discussions de voyage.

Un dernier tour de scooter avant de se dire au revoir. Nous partons vers Hualien, notre base pour visiter les gorges de Taroko. Superbe paysage que ces gorges formées par l'érosion de la montagne par la rivière, et le petit plus qui rend les choses encore plus impressionnantes, c’est qu’il y a énormément de marbre parmi les roches qui composent ces gorges. Je vous laisse admirer les photos, même si il pleuvait le jour où nous avons visité.

L’étape suivante fut Taitung, principalement pour pouvoir aller passer un peu de temps sur l’ile verte, petite ile très naturelle avec des sources d’eau chaude salée, l’une des rares au monde.

Et ensuite, nous sommes allés à Kenting, LA station balnéaire du Sud de Taiwan, un peu trop station balnéaire pour moi. Heureusement qu’il y avait un parc national juste à côté, histoire d’avoir un peu de calme.

C’est ainsi qu’on a terminé la visite de la côte Est de Taiwan, la côte la plus naturelle du pays, et c’est vraiment joli.

Arrived in Yilan, we meet Tanya and Luke, an American couple who agreed to host us for a night. She is a teacher of English and  he studies agriculture. They help us to rent a scooter to visit the area and we are exploring the city through their western eyes.

A little green after the last few days in Taipei, it feels good. Temple, lake, rice ...

In the evening, they continue to make us live and experience an evening organized at the last moment we enjoy. Program: fire on the beach, beer and travel discussions.

A final round of scooter before saying goodbye. We go to Hualien, our base for visiting Taroko Gorge. Beautiful landscape that the grooves formed by the erosion of the mountains by the river, and the little extra that makes things even more impressive is that it is a lot of marble in the rocks that make up the gorge. I let you admire the photos, even though it was raining the day we visited.

The next step was Taitung, mainly in order to spend some time on Green Island, a small island with a very natural source of hot salt water, one of the few in the world.

And then we went to Kenting THE seaside resort in southern Taiwan, a little resort for me. Fortunately, there was a national park right next door, just to get some peace.

Thus we finished the tour of the east coast of Taiwan, the most natural coast of the country, and it's really pretty.
